Every 30 minutes, a child is born with HIV in Nigeria!

In 2020, 20,695 children aged 0-9 have been infected with HIV in Nigeria through no fault of theirs. This trend has remained largely unchanged because Nigeria has been unable to eradicate the mother to child transmission of HIV.

If we allow this persist, the 130,000 children currently infected with HIV in the country will double over the next five years.

The challenge is mainly about program funding.

We need funding to reach out to all pregnant women in Nigeria not attending formal birth centres and provide them with HIV screening.

We need more investments in HIV Test kits to provide screening for all pregnant women who present at both formal and informal birth delivery centres.

We need funding to ensure that every single pregnant woman who tests positive is placed on anti-retroviral therapy (ART).

We need funding to ensure that all HIV Exposed Infants (HEI) are provided enhanced Post-Natal Prophylaxis at birth to prevent HIV.

A $1 donation to the HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria means that we can procure one additional HIV Test kit to screen one additional pregnant woman.

A N50,000 donation to the HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria means that we can provide a year-long ART for a HIV positive pregnant woman and minimize the chances of her transmitting the virus to her unborn child.

Every Naira you donate to the HIV Trust Fund of Nigeria can help eradicate mother to child transmission of HIV in Nigeria.
